MOON SUN YOUNG - Independent Fashion Designer
Based on reinterpretations of patterns , shapes, and functions of garment, by hybridizing the idea through juxtapositions of different kinds of garments and the usage of pattern, she transforms the pieces into unexpected silhouettes.
MOON SUN YOUNG, a South Korean fashion designer living in Paris, embodies the notion that women can wear what they want, how they want, when they want. Based on reinterpretations of patterns , shapes, and functions of garment, by hybridizing the idea through juxtapositions of different kinds of garments and the usage of pattern, she transforms the pieces into unexpected silhouettes. While her collections may bring to be about femininity, Sun Young’s interest is in creating clothes that are wholly unique and timeless, playful and experimental. To Sun Young, who is influenced by her surroundings and functions in daily life, her collection has a distinctive elegance based on transformations of basic and classical items.
